Eighteen of twenty three Swiss cheese wheels scored 90 or more at the Green County Fair with Roy Kundert’s entry from Hay Hollow Factory taking 97. Albert Deppler’s Wyss plant won Limburger with 94, followed by Werner Thueler in second and Walter Minning’s Silver Factory third with 92 14. Polio Ward Reports No New Patients at St Clare Hospital
No new polio patients entered St. Clare hospital by noon. Nine patients in the isolation ward were in satisfactory condition. Bruce Wagner, five, shows no paralysis. He was admitted after a stiff neck and back. Thomas Savour of Beloit arrived yesterday with spinal type polio. A second hot pack machine, owned by the Green County Council American Legion, is in use for those treated by that method, purchased through a magazine sales project three years ago.

Crazed VA patient flees Madison hospital with knife
A 40-year-old veterans affairs patient with a mental disorder escaped Thursday from the Madison VA hospital armed with a large kitchen knife. Police urged residents to lock doors as a search of an 80 acre corn field near the hospital continued after dark. Hospital superintendent Morris C.
