Wisconsin Weekend Crash Toll Tops Twenty
The final April weekend in Wisconsin saw twenty people die in accidents across the state. A head on collision on Highway 57 near Sturgeon Bay killed three and injured four. Drownings occurred when a boat capsized on Okauchee Lake. Death of Monroe Resident Fred Sickinger at 84
Fred G. Sickinger 84 of 1716 17th Avenue Monroe died at Wagner Convalescent Home at 10:45 a m after six weeks illness and a recent surgery. He was a lifelong Monroe resident born April 28 1867 son of Louis and Mary Yordh Sickinger. A dray operator for years he later held various jobs and served in the volunteer fire department. He married Ellen Knight January 5 1893 in St Victor's Church. Survivors include six children Mrs Harry Kessler Mrs Luther Glass Mrs Robert Montgomery Louis P George M and John B six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery with rosary tonight at Stuessy funeral home and funeral mass tomorrow at St Victor's Church.

Ohio Guard Tank Hit By Train Kills Three
An Ohio national guard tank moved onto a speeding Erie passenger train near Barberton yesterday. Three of the tank’s five crew members were killed and one injured. Six train passengers were hurt, none seriously. The dead served in the CNG's 137th medium tank battalion, 37th infantry division, from maneuvers at Portage lakes.

Frank L. Metcalf 67 of 1518 23rd Avenue died at St. Clare hospital at 9 30 p m after a year of illness. Born February 11 1884 in Cadiz township he married Anna Krueger October 14 1908. The Metcalfs lived in Cadiz township and Monroe before his death leaving wife three brothers and two daughters.
