Police report four University of Wisconsin professors saw their homes vandalized with bricks early Saturday. History professor Morton Rothstein noted a plausible link to supporters of the Teaching Assistants Association as police estimated total damage at $525.
President Nixon urged lowering the voting age to 18 by constitutional amendment, a move branded by Rep. Emanuel Celler as part of a Southern strategy to kill the Voting Rights Act. Celler said the plan undermines the rights bill while Nixon argued the change would be unconstitutional by statute.

London AP report says police shield Sarah Nabarro daughter of Sir Gerald Nabarro after reports she rather than Princess Margaret's son was the target in an underworld kidnap plot. The Conservative MP said officers escorted her from London where she studies to a home in central England to keep her safe.

The last of 14 000 legal size trout stocked in nine streams and one lake were dumped in Zanders Lake Browntown Monday afternoon by Dept of Natural Resources Area Fish Manager Don Stricker. The 2000 fish stocking in Zanders completes a week of Green County replenishments and will be the last for the season. Trout season begins May 9.
