Mohr Dies After Boxing Brain Injury
Charles Mohr 22 a University of Wisconsin boxer died after a brain hemorrhage following an NCAA 165 pound title bout with Stu Bartell of San Jose State. He collapsed in the second round and never regained consciousness despite surgery. Mohr had been undefeated in 10 Wisconsin bouts as a junior and was favored to defend his title.

Wildlife Hearing Set May 2 for Regulation Changes
Area sportsmen may propose changes to fish and game regulations at the annual wildlife hearing at 8 p.m. Monday May 2 in the courthouse. County Conservation Congress committeemen will be elected after the first rule changes. Kenneth H Hoesly of New Glarus serves as chairman. Regulations won t be fixed by the Conservation Commission until July and must be approved by the governor. A questionnaire will poll possible changes, with recommendations to be integrated into actions by the Conservation Congress in Madison. The commission recommends upland seasons for all species including pheasant remain as last year.

Easter Weekend Auto Mishaps Injure Four in County
Four people were injured in three county auto mishaps over Easter weekend, with John and Mrs. Nipple of Brodhead among the injured. Hattie Naef of Monroe, and Martin Iverson of Janesville also sustained injuries as deputies cited slippery roads from rain and snow.
