Rotary Club program showcases Curt Matson travel film Switzerland

The Monroe Rotary Club presents its sixth Travel and Adventure program on April 19 1967 at 8 p m in the Junior High School Auditorium. Curt Matson of Hollywood will debut his latest travel film Switzerland with the Swiss Mixed Chorus providing vocal selections. The feature covers Swiss landmarks from the Matterhorn to Interlaken and Davos along with a Rhine boat trip and winter sports in St Moritz. Matson, a California traveler and lecturer, has acted in plays and films including Merchant of Venice Stalag 17 Hell Squad Tank Commandos.

Area students win AP High School Writing Contest honors

Three Monroe area entries won in District 2 of the Associated Press High School Writing Contest and advance to state competition. Winners include Gary Babler and Donna Springer of Monroe, Linda Siegenthaler of rural Blanchardville and Argyle High School, and Joan Sager of Monona Grove Madison.

County Board Meets Tuesday in Green County Circuit Courtroom

Green County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday night April 18 at 8 pm in the Circuit Courtroom to review a varied agenda. Items include the annual highway report, Badger Restoration Co inspection costs not to exceed 2000, State Highway Commission advance of 77000 for State Trunk Highway 11 improvements, weed control for Zanders Lake, and viewing microfilms of the Register of Deeds records.
