Sportsmen to Vote on Deer Season and Fish and Game Rules

Sportsmen will vote on deer season length from nine to 16 days in northern Wisconsin and on antlerless deer quotas and other fish and game law changes at hearings statewide next Monday night. Green County hearing begins 8 p.m. in the county agricultural building, with topics including extending the southern Wisconsin deer season to three days and possible Monday hunting. Local Students Capture Honors in Science Fair

Board to Consider Pupil Starting Age Change

The Board of Education will discuss changing start age rules for kindergarten and first grade. Proponent D J Huenink proposes a three year gradual shift from December 1 to September 1. Series of Fires Blamed on Wind Rakes Wisconsin

VEW Clubhouse Set to Open Tonight on Smoky Row

The new VEW Clubhouse at 1301 17th Street between 14th and 15th avenues opens to the public at 6 p.m. with a dedication planned for June 6. Cecil Jones post officials say the tavern portion will operate tonight after vacating the former VFW Tap quarters. Gemini Test Units End Orbit Burn Up

NASA reported the Gemini capsule and Titan 2 rocket burned up on re entry after a successful test flight. The Gemini-Titan combo, launched from Cape Kennedy, Fla., circled the globe until 3 p.m. Sunday. It will support two man orbital flights starting late 1964 or early next year.

Bike Licensing Day Set for Saturday at Lincoln School

The safety check program run with the VFW and VEW Auxiliary will occur only on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Lincoln school. Registration slips were sent to city schools and parents are asked to help children fill them out before licenses can be issued. Bikes must pass a safety test with fender reflectors brakes a chain guard a horn or bell and lights if used at night. Licenses issued will be metal with a reflector surface, replacing the paper tags used earlier.
