Anna Dempsey 82 Monroe Woman Dies After Stroke
Anna Dempsey 82 of 1810 12th Street Monroe died at 2 45 pm yesterday in St Clare hospital after a stroke. Born May 26 1877 in County Mayo Ireland she came to America in 1895 and lived in Scranton and Adams Township before moving to Monroe in 1914. She married Patrick J Dempsey Oct 16 1907. he died 1933. Survivors include three daughters four stepchildren 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was active in St Victor s Catholic church KC Auxiliary Altar Society and Moose Lodge. Funeral services are set for Monday at 9 am in the Stuessy funeral home and 9 30 am in St Victor s church with burial in Calvary cemetery.

Area Girl Satisfactory After Heart Operation
Carla Haman six year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Haman Route 4 Monroe underwent heart surgery at University Hospitals for a congenital defect but did not require open heart surgery.
