American Cheese Cases Dismissed

Federal Judge John Parker Barnes dismissed an eight year old price fixing indictment against 11 cheese firms including five from Wisconsin. Nine defendants in a prior brick cheese suit were acquitted, leading to dismissal for lack of merit. Remaining two firms were also dismissed, ending the American cheese case.

Burglars Break In at Turner Hall Bar

Burglars entered Turner Hall bar area last night, taking under $10, breaking the south door bolts, and forcing the door open. The juke box yielded under $2 and a few cigarettes. other money was odd change. Entry occurred between midnight and 8 am. no liquor reported taken as police began full investigation.

Christoffel Freed On Bail for Appeal

Harold Christoffel, former Milwaukee labor leader, was released from jail on a $10,000 bond pending his appeal on a perjury conviction. The Civil Rights Congress of New York posted the bond.
