Albany Area Voters Reject 18Year Beer Age Return
Voters overwhelmingly opposed lowering the beer age to 18 with 240 to 89 in Albany area elections. The advisory referendum asked if beer should be sold to 18 year olds after the Village Board raised the limit to 21 last year. Three new village trustees won seats as Duane Dixon led with 247 votes, Vernon Jones 159 and Harry Edwards 139. Incumbents Pease and Brink lost, Stauffer retained a seat, and new board members include Durtschi and Alm with several unopposed winners.

Aeschliman was elected governor of the Monroe Moose Lodge last night in the clubrooms. Ted Schmiedlin won junior governor, Carl Burgi prelate, Charles Schadewaldt treasurer, and Herbert Johnson trustee. Evans Elected Mayor and Ohio Garbage Proposal Fails
In Green County voters elected Evans as mayor while rejecting the garbage proposal. Mrs. Boetker of Woodford Dies at 76
Mrs. William Boetker 76 of Woodford was found dead in her home after a yearlong diabetes illness. Born January 11 1883 in Germany she came to America at age four settling in Green County. She married William Boetker in 1904 and later moved to Woodford. She is survived by three children a sister a step sister a step brother seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Services set for Friday at 1 30 p m at Peace United Church of Christ Browntown with burial at Woodlawn Argyle.

Pardoned Candidate Wins Bloomer Mayoral Race
Norman Ludwigsen, a 50 year old former inmate pardoned by Gov. Nelson, won the Bloomer mayoral race as a write in after eligibility clearance on March 2. He defeated incumbent Mayor John O. Johnson 630 to 583 and served 10 months in prison for breaking and entering in 1930.
