New officers include Gerhard P Steensrud as vice chairman and Russell Carter named district representative on the U S Grant Council executive board.

Agnes Rinehardt Dies at 74 in Monroe
Agnes Rinehardt 74, retired after 40 years at Green County hospital, died at St. Clare hospital from heart conditions. Born Nov 23 1884 in Jordan Township, she lived at 1745 16th St and was a practical nurse. She belonged to St Victor’s church and the Moose women’s group, survived by four sisters and a brother, with services Saturday at Stuessy funeral home and St Victor’s church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Nelson Submits Building Plan With 52 Million Three Year Program
Governor Gaylord Nelson asks the Wisconsin Legislature to approve a 52 million dollar, three year building program and outlines plans to finance it. He urges ending preconstruction building set asides and envisions a long range program this fall with possible debt limit revisions and removal of constitutional borrowing bans. He proposes 36.5 million to be raised by 1959, plus funds from balances and a 6.7 million 1961 appropriation, plus 5.3 million via educational building corporations for student unions and dormitories.

Mrs. Jacob Buehler Dies. Rites Planned in Monroe
Mrs. Jacob Buehler 72 of 1616 15th Avenue died at 2 p.m. yesterday in St. Clare hospital after years of illness due to a heart condition. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Stuessy funeral home with Rev. Paul H. Olm officiating. burial in Greenwood cemetery. She was born Bertha Huenig in Canton Bern Switzerland on Oct 9 1886 and married Jacob Buehler March 19 1908 in Monroe. Survivors include two sons John Pecatonica and Fred Orangeville and four grandchildren. Her husband died in 1957 and a brother also preceded her in death.

Brodhead Man Injured by Cars
A 71 year old Brodhead man suffered a fractured pelvis and internal injuries when pinned between two cars in a Monroe parking lot. Longtime Monroe barber Lucius F. Smith dies at 2 05 p.m.
Lucius F. Smith a Fifth Ward supervisor and Monroe barber died at St. Clare hospital at 2 05 p.m. He was admitted March 18. A Springfield South Dakota native married Bertha Marty in 1909 the couple celebrated 50 years last month. He worked 52 years as a barber in several towns and ran a shop with his son Charles M. Smith. He leaves a wife three sons two daughters 18 grandchildren four great grandchildren a brother and a sister. He was a re election candidate for the supervisor post next Tuesday. Services are pending at Shriner Neushwalder funeral home.

Stranded car found in Pecatonica flood waters near Browntown
A car nearly submerged in the swollen Pecatonica River on County Trunk M south of Browntown was found by Clifford Miller who alerted Browntown fire chief Raymond Montgomery. The driver, Arnold Fryer of Winslow, was safe at home and rescue was canceled when the vehicle was empty.

In Madison Wisconsin today the American cheese market shows steady demand with offerings adequate. Prices for cheddar on moisture basis range from 32 to 34 percent with 40 pound blocks at 34 and 35 cents a pound, single daisies at 34 to 34.5, longhorns at 34.5 to 35, and mid grades at 36 to 37 cents.

Water rise floods Yellowstone area as dam opens
Clarence R. Benkert, district game manager, reports Yellowstone Lake rose four feet in 24 hours. The dam was opened to release runoff and prevent erosion of the dike. Lowlands below the dam are flooded and all roads near the lake were underwater.
