The Monroe Jaycettes present an April in Paris style show at Turner Hall next Thursday to benefit Cerebral Palsy victims. A special ramp will improve viewing of 104 fashion ensembles donated by local stores with hair styling by area shops. Models include named women and men with student models and participating shops and beauty salons listed.

League Defers 1960 Pheasant Plans And Boosts Wildlife
Green County Conservation League directors deferred action on raising pheasants this year and urged farmers to order free trees and shrubs before April 10. The group will stock 500 cocks and hens, with a six to one hen to rooster ratio, and expand breeding using South Dakota stock. A children’s fish pond east of Monroe will open late May or June with large bluegills from the Mississippi River.

Five census takers started in Monroe County with a county crew of 13 and one field reviewer. Mrs Hilda Peckham said the census should finish around April 11 or 12 after door to door canvassing of 55 million U S households. Cape Canaveral reports a robot weather satellite named Tiros I was launched from the missile test center at 6 40 a m EST and began sending cloud cover images back to Earth.
