City installs a steel eye and concrete 50 foot bridge and culvert extending east on Cleveland street from Davis street.

Kansas City dispatch reports Representative David A. De Armond and his six year old grandson Waddie died when a fire destroyed the De Armond home in Butler Missouri early this morning. Mrs De Armond and James A De Ar mond survived. The congressman, born 1844 in Blair County Pennsylvania, served in multiple Missouri offices before election to several congresses.
James Allen and Miss Ella Sagestry planned marriage after he secured a Paris license. Returning home, he left the coat with the license on the bed. His mother confiscated the coat and tore the license, preventing the bride from marrying. The incident ends with an ironic, cautionary note on carelessness.
