Love and Letter Reversal Sparked a Marriage Plot
John Montgomery loves Alice Blair but hesitates to propose. After sending a long letter and awaiting a reply that never came, he travels to England on business. Weeks later he meets Alice again, only to be snubbed. A Calcutta note reveals her delayed reply, and six months later they wed, solving the waited confession. The tale blends romance, fate, and misread intentions.
