Club Hosts Final Meeting of the Year
Entertained A and C Mrs Ivan Yates hosted ABC's Tuesday afternoon with twenty five ladies and guests. Roses decorated the room as the president Mrs EW Schweer led a business meeting voting to continue summer meetings. Refreshments of brick ice cream strawberries and cake were served despite the heat. Mrs J W Lowe of Hannibal visited with WB VanMarter and family. Mrs Henry Couch of Hunnewell visited relatives.

Market Letter Weekly Cattle and Hog Prices Report
Cattle receipts were moderate and prices held steady for good to choice cattle with medium kinds weaker. Prime steers sold around 1325 to 1365. calves, heifers, cows, and stockers varied from 800 to 1300. Hog receipts 10 000 and markets strong with high weight hogs and packing sows between 1465 and 1485. Also notes a social gathering at Mrs Thompson Penn's home for her birthday with neighbors bringing handiwork.

Mrs FOrwards obituary notes her death last Friday at home after illness. A funeral was held at the Methodist Church next Tuesday with Rev. Lakenan officiating and burial in the cemetery at Shelbina. Virgil Livisey and others visited the family in the days following the death.

Mrs J M Johnson entertained many friends on Friday June 8 in honor of Miss Lena Melson from St Louis visiting relatives here. Six tables of Euchre and one of Rock provided games. The house was decorated with syringe and roses. Judith Ellen, the hostess’s daughter, assisted in serving ice cream cake and salted almonds after games.
