Mutual Telephone Plans Grow in Monroe County Meeting
About seventy five farmers gathered at the Democrat office in Monroe City at the call of J M Grigsby president of the Monroe County Telephone Union. They urged cost-based service and universal access in Northeast Missouri with a mutual system including a local switchboard to connect Monroe City residents and neighboring towns. A follow up meeting is planned for Saturday afternoon inviting all interested residents to attend.

Boy Shot While Sledding with Gun Incident

Farmers Institute to be held in Monroe City March 14
A Farmers Institute gathering is planned for Monroe City on Monday March 14 with sessions optional forenoon afternoon and evening. Speakers include Dr J C White horticulturist Dr G M Tucker corn improvement and Dr D F Luckey on live stock diseases and sanitation. The program aims to boost Missouri agriculture with demonstrations showing 10 to 50 percent corn improvement through breeding.
