Partition Sales Reported Near City Auctions
The Hagan farm of 223 acres seven miles south of the city sold to Sen. George W. Humphrey of Shelbina for 47.52 dollars per acre. A 100 acre Elzen farm seven miles southeast sold to Charles Mudd for 24.75 dollars per acre. Both parcels sold under partition suit at Paris as bargains. Mrs Clark of near Ely fell and broke her hip, age over 70, aggravating the injury.

Greater Monroe to Incorporate North of Monroe City
A group formed a company to buy the W. T. Clark farm in Marion County near Monroe City and plans to lay out a residence addition. At Friday’s meeting the council ordered a vote at the April city election on incorporating a strip one fourth mile north by one mile east and west. About fifteen families reside in the area with expanding building prospects. F. D. Brownell visited Shelbina Saturday.
