James B. McClintic, long time resident within 25 miles of Gay Paree the Monroe County capital, finally visited the city on a recent Monday after being born in 1868 in the Old Dominion. A severe snow blizzard halted work as a Wabash freight collided with a caboose crews east of Hassard. Greek workers Dar Allee and John Muster were killed, brakeman Jesse Burton died from injuries, and two Greeks survived long enough to be attended before burial arrangements shifted to St. Louis.
