Aged Woman Dies by Her Own Action Near Hunnewell
Mrs. Jane Wood aged 81 years living north of Hunnewell died by hanging early Monday morning. The widow of Stephen Wood she was well connected and long known in the community. She leaves several children and numerous relatives. In another note, Matt Washington and Tom Preston, jailed for cowhide theft, were released after it emerged others skinned the steer and did not sell the hide to Henderson & Sons. A neighbor in Ralls County alerted authorities of the innocence, correcting a misstep and possible injustice in the arrests.
