Prominent Paris Citizen Dies. Judge Moss Passes Away

Paris a prominent citizen, Judge David H. Moss, longtime banker and former circuit judge, died at home Monday evening after a period of ill health. He helped found Monroe Savings Association, merged in 1871 into the First National Bank of Paris, where he served as president until his death. He and his wife had ten children, two of whom predeceased him. he was esteemed as a leading Monroe County figure.

Altorzoe Robinson known as Foat dies at age 728 after heart trouble at his home near Spalding Springs. A highly respected neighbor and longtime pillar of the Salt Lick church, he was a central figure in the community.

At the home of James Gibbons on January 25 1906 Dr E McNair officiated uniting Sterling J Shaw of Bisbee Arizona with Margaret Gibbons of Marion County Missouri. After the ceremony the bride held her niece Mildred during baptism of the couple’s children then family dinner followed. The couple left for Bisbee Arizona on the afternoon train.

Miss Beigza Little formerly of this city died last Friday at her Center area residence. Funeral services were held Sunday at 11 a m at St Paul church conducted by Rev Fr Earnst.

They shot and killed 120 rabbits and wounded Charley Lasley’s dog when a load of shot hit it. A man at the depot refused to give his name, saying he was going to Chillicothe and implying his home paper neglects his family.

Palmyra Fire Destroys Hotel Beginnings of Morning Blaze

The Palmyra fire at 4 50 this morning gutted the Overton Dudley Hotel with walls standing. Guests and drummers escaped as the blaze confined to the building. several individuals sustained minor injuries while belongings and bridal gifts were saved. J W Owsley held 1700 insurance on furniture. the hotel valued 10 000 to 12 000 with 5000 insurance.
