John B. Jeffries, former Monroe City schools head, succeeds W. H. Powell as editor. Powell moves to Oklahoma City to become city editor of The Daily Times after building up the Courier-Post. Jeffries praised for readiness to elevate the paper. W. L. Ely and wife hosted about seventy five P E O members and guests with refreshments and city orchestra music Saturday.
