Fire destroys Kelly township widow’s home and six children
Sunday night January 28 a stove pipe defect caused a blaze at a widow Pape Freps home in Kelly township. The family escaped as the roof collapsed and they trudged three quarters of a mile in the cold to a neighbor. Only a few bed clothes saved. The Warren County Agricultural Society plans to fix the next fair premium list and invites member suggestions from all—floral hall and other topics included.

Fine cattle movers boost promising stock in Warren county
Aruevs Lewis of Berwick township delivered five car loads of fine cattle to stall feed the season, totaling over one hundred head. J. D. Rexnowps of Little York also shipped forty eight head of extra fine two year olds from Mineral Point Wisconsin. Both gentlemen aim to fill Warren county with No 1 stock.

Destructive Fire Averted At Main Street Hotel
Early Friday morning fire alarms rang for seven o'clock at the Main Street Exchange Hotel. A defective flue caused the blaze but quick action by firemen and buckets of water saved the building. The loss is about forty dollars. a strong breeze or delay could have worsened the disaster.

McDonough County Horse Thief Arrested in Bushnell

January travel on the railroad was weak but depot sales show a healthy total.
