Portland letter hails Crater Lake as the continent’s premier natural spectacle calling it a marvel of scenery and solitude. Writer lauds its blue depths and surrounding landscape, urging travelers to visit and witness the famous caldera.
A 250 acre walnut farm will be planted in Yamhill County as part of Oregon fruit agriculture expansion. The project joins other regional notes, including deeper Willamette River channel talks from Portland to Eugene and a surge in timber investment.

Independence citizens secured the Falls City sawmill site last Wednesday after a effort to obtain a deed. The mill will produce 100000 feet in 10 hours, requiring many workers and creating a sizable payroll, a major city builder for Independence. Despite opposition to growth some locals, determined residents prevailed and the town earns congratulations for its push and energy.

High School opens with vigor, new encyclopedias dictionaries and science apparatus aid learning. attendance strong and a successful year anticipated.
