Misa Jessie Millard, Supervisor of Children's Work in the Portland Library, visited the Normal Monday and spoke at chapel on children's reading. She told stories to the Training School children and students in Story-Telling clues. The Corn Show in Independence on November 23 and 24 drew large displays of corn and glazed variety for pigs. Major Rose exhibited potatoes from imported seed. Flower man Mr Pant from Salem did brisk business with cut flowers and potted plants. Many faculty and students attended from Monmouth for the event and Thanksgiving holidays with kin across the state.
