Monmouth High School hosted a Halloween party with both boys and girls in costumes. The event featured side shows The Talking Chair Chamber of Horrors and Fortune Telling along with refreshments like ice cream cakes apples nuts cider and pumpkin pie. A straw vote was taken Tuesday and the Student Body hopes for more successful socials in the future.

Harding landslide echoes in afternoon election results

Former Monmouth resident Martha Simpson Williams aged about 82 died Tuesday at Deaconess hospital in Salem after her husband Uncle Bob Williams passed May 4. Adopted daughter Mrs W K Tetherow of North Port Wash arrives for funeral. Administrator Chas Leonard oversees arrangements. Funeral leaves Henkle’s Independence parlor at 12 30 for Airlie Smith Cemetery burial with Rev H C Dunsmore officiating.
