Rural Center Week Highlights at New Normal Chapel
The enlarged New Normal Chapel hosted a busy Rural Center week with record crowds for the opening exercises. Mountain View won the annual flag for the year as Nan Denham and Miss Tirrell figures were noted among staff, while a Senior Class Play by Jo sephine Seger of Portland celebrated America’s wartime effort with elaborate stage symbolism and praise for Seger's talent.

High School Commencement Exercises Featured in Auditorium
The Monmouth high school held its commencement in the school auditorium with E. L. Keeves of Eugene as speaker. Of twenty four graduates, twenty two attended to receive diplomas from board chairman O. A. Wolverton, as Principal Hedrick presented them. The Normal Orchestra and glee clubs provided music and Mr Blackstone delivered solo work plus faculty commentary from Prof Gentle. President Ackerman closed with remarks on high ideals for teachers. Oscar Williamson presented retiring faculty member W. H. Burton with a travel bag.
