Boothby at Rest Funeral Draws Dense Turnout
Funeral services for G. T. Boothby were held in the Christian church Sunday afternoon with a large attendance that filled the building. Odd Fellows and Rebekahs attended, and about a hundred were present. Floral offerings framed the coffin as Rev. H. C. Shropshire delivered the sermon. Burial followed the Odd Fellows ritual in Monmouth cemetery with Chas. Newman officiating. Aouitte Gevetts Andrus, daughter of Mirilda J. Qs Andrus, underwent surgery at McMinnville hospital on Monday February 18. condition described as critical but hopeful for recovery. Harold Bogart of King's Valley, formerly of Monmouth, visited Monday.

Normal Student Weds Overseas Veteran
The Sunday Oregonian reports the Vancouver Washington wedding of Carl Plessinger of Dallas and Roxie Willhausen of Monmouth. The bride, a Portland resident and Mexico native, worked at the hotel while attending Normal. The groom, an early World War I volunteer, served as a teamster in the artillery and was among the last to leave Europe.

Valentine Party at Virginia Hurst Nor Mal School Girls
Mr and Mrs Clay Taylor hosted a Valentine party at the new Virginia Hurst home on Monmouth Avenue for Normal School girls. Decorations featured red and white ribbon garlands and sweet pea vases. half the attendees wore girl costumes and the other half dressed as boys from the training school. Dean Taylor chaperoned and the event ended with a dance after luncheon, noted for its lively fun and gratitude to the hosts.

A small attendance at the Commercial club dinner at the Hotel Monmouth saw guests receive the new city directory by plate. E. M. Ebbert compiled the sixty page volume and P. T. Johnson announced an executive committee including Ira C. Powell, Dr. Bowersox, and Prof. Dodds. The meeting discussed sewer work with engineers drafting cost estimates, a proposed auto camp park, shade tree planting with a Civic club tie in, and support for the dairy plea law amid a referendum challenges.
