Court Raises Salaries for County Deputies in 1920
The county court ordered higher salaries for deputies in 1920 affecting the sheriff and clerk offices but not assessor or school superintendent. High School Students Move On After Semester End

The school plans a second semester start with new classes in commercial law arithmetic and American history. Students urged to study politics and vote
Harvey K. Starkweather of Portland and Milwaukie told Normal School students at chapel last Friday that men and women should take an interest in politics as the active expression of government. He urged voting and teachers to combat indifference. Laurel Canning of Monmouth helped the Alpha Phi debating team in a February 3 debate at the University of Oregon during a women’s residence hall tournament.
