Portland Industrial Meeting Aims to Boost Lobster Supply
A large Oregon wide industrial fair is planned in Portland for September with state manufacturers showcased and Portland Manufacturers' Association support. A commemorative banquet for Judge George H. Williams on his 87th birthday is set for March in Portland. The US Fisheries Department will transplant a carload of lobsters into Yaquina Bay to test recovery of the failing supply, with Senator Bourne and Fisheries Commissioner Bowers backing the experiment. Special rail excursion rates from the East are arranged for Rose Festival in June and the Ancient Order of Hibernians convention in July.
