Fruit Growers to Organize State Horticultural Society
A Portland meeting of Pacific Northwest fruit growers considered forming a central selling agency. No authorization to act was granted. a February 28 Walla Walla meeting was set for delegates to formalize the organization. Also noted were urging funds for the Umatilla irrigation project and a bill to fund the Oregon State Horticultural Society. A Kerr report highlighted Oregon Agricultural College’s large outreach in 1908 1910. A Lebanon woman reports success in poultry raising with 36 hens laying 4804 eggs and a net annual profit of 154.80 from her flock.

Lucinda Leonard mother of C W Leonard of Salisbury Missouri died January 13 1911 aged 83 years 4 months and 9 days of la grippe and pneumonia at her daughter Mrs J R Mason's home. She was born September 4 1827 in Chariton County and survived by eight siblings and seven children three sons and four daughters. She joined the M E Church South and later Ashbury Chapel, lived on farms near Keytesville and Salisbury. Funeral services
