President Ackerman and faculty report strong interest in St Johns and Baker programs. Students return for Christmas break and clubs plan adjourned meetings with upcoming programs at the Delphian and Vespertine societies. The Registrar notes many inquiries about February term 1912 and Alice Morrison will present a Senior essay in chapel. An informal December 15 reception is announced at the Normal chapel. The tax levy remains at 4.5 mills, aiding maintenance.

School Tax To Be Five Mills
A special school meeting at the new building approved a five mill levy for the next year. The school board outlined costs from the new building and running expenses including salaries interest water light and fuel. The tax was unanimously approved by taxpayers present.
The Passion Play at Star Theater Tuesday Night
The Passion Play features Miss Fridd in a lecture by Miss Fridd and Miss Davis singing The Holy City with Miss Harlans Orchestra at the Star Theater. Admission is 15 and 25 cents. The Young Peoples Society of the Evangelical Church meets this evening at J E Winegars to elect officers and conduct business.

Circuit Court Actions In Dallas This Week
The Dallas circuit court disposed justice with several pleas. John Magers pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and received a 20 year penitentiary sentence. Charles Hewitt admitted breaking into Craven Grocery on September 2 and faces reform school. The grand jury condemned the county jail as unsanitary and unsafe. The new grand jury, drawn Monday, includes A. R. Southwick foreman J. S. Parker Charles Boyle W. J. Burns N. F. Gregg J. White and Joseph Card and will serve until the May 1912 term.
