City Council Adopts Interim Adjournment Amid Illness
City council adjourned due to the mayor and a councilman’s illness with no quorum. A committee of Ke. H. Lorence and J. A. Sturkin was appointed to oversee starting the new pump, as claims totaling 213.68 were approved for street work and city expenses. The session reconvened with all members present except the mayor.

MeInturff Loses Bank Case in Salem Court
D N MeInturff faced a Salem court brought by a Spokane bank that attached his account to satisfy an old note. He claimed the funds belonged to his daughter and that he had no money. The note was proven to be in his name and the money deposited by him. His daughter appeared with an assignment, but the court rejected it and MeInturff paid the note plus costs after about thirty witnesses testified.

Mrs E J Davidson Dies in Murphy Oregon
Word via Grundy Davidson of Portland reports Mrs E J Davidson mother of Pearl Davidson died last Sunday night at her Murphy Oregon home. Funeral held Tuesday April 22. The Herald noted two weeks earlier that Miss Davidson was called home from clerking in the local post office due to her mother’s serious illness.
