Murder Charge Facing 17 Year Old Monahans Youth
A 17 year old Monahans student Charles Newby Jr of 518 West 5th is jailed on a 25000 bond facing a murder charge. He allegedly killed his grandfather Samuel P. Newby 73 after arriving home from school on Wednesday night. Authorities say a large fork was used in the attack. autopsy results are pending. Burial services for the elder Newby were held in Wickett and he is survived by a widow, children, siblings, and seven grandchildren.
