Summerhill to Lead Monahans Schools for 1933 34
Prof J A Summerhill of Midland will head the Monahans schools for the 1933 34 term. He met with the board and teachers to outline a plan reorganizing the system. The high school and intermediate grades will adopt a departmental unit plan with teachers focusing on major subjects. Primary teachers supervise one grade each. Activities include supervised play and extra curriculars such as debates and music memory work.

Gulf Starts Two Wells Near Here in Ward County

Gas Tax Evasion Law Is Signed
Governor Miriam A Ferguson and both houses pushed measures to curb tax evasion in gasoline sales. HB Metcalfe Harmon made gas tax evasion a felony with penalties, while House Bill 246 amended the Texas Food and Drug Act to recover an estimated four million dollars yearly.
