State Representative Jerry Cockerham introduces House Joint Resolution 78 to cap governors and lieutenant governors at eight years and four terms for state reps and senators. A second measure would limit all lawmakers similarly and raise pay, arguing increased citizen participation and accessibility for nonprofessionals. The bills cite current lack of term limits across offices.
Bill Moss, a classroom teacher, coach and administrator who has lived 13 years in Pecos, is highlighted for school trustee candidacy. He has led the Monahans Chamber of Commerce, served Pecos Chamber as VP, presided and secretary roles in Rotary, and held community service posts with the American Cancer Society and Vocational Education committees. He and his wife Judy, a first grade teacher, have a daughter Melissa.
