Funeral services are pending at Barnes Funeral Home for Juvencio Salgado a 56 year old Monahans man who died at Ward Memorial Hospital about 1 20 a m He was born February 28 1902 in Mexico and resided at 309 East A Street He is survived by his wife Martina five daughters Hortensia Ramirez Elodia Sapina Jenoberra and Bessie Salgado a son Juvencio Salgado Jr and two brothers Anatalio and Escidoro Salgado
Robert Amos Fincher a 38 year old crane man and tool pusher for Laughlan Porter Drilling Co of Midland died Sunday about 6 p m near Wickett after a heart attack. He was born March 31 1919 at Parks Texas and pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital. Barnes Funeral Home took the body to Crane for services and burial.
Post Office officials announced mail delivery will be available to residents on blocks 800 900 and 1000 South Harry Avenue 700 800 and 900 South Ike and the 800 block East 3rd Street once residents install mail boxes.
The 1958 national Easter Seal campaign opens with Mrs. D S Nichols chairing the local drive. Mailings reach more homes to fund care and treatment for crippled children through April 6. Last year four Ward County children benefited from Easter Seals services.
Jimmy Williams named president of Hudier Junior High School Student Council after last Wednesday election. Madeline Williams is vice president, Carolyn Lowe secretary, Jim Bob Barton treasurer. Officers will serve the 1958 59 school year.

Funeral rites were held Saturday in Colorado City for Wylie C Key 66 retired stock farmer and World War I veteran who died Thursday in Big Spring Veterans Hospital after a long illness He was a longtime Mitchell County resident and member of the Methodist Church Surviving are his widow a son Mack two daughters Mrs A L Cain and Marie Key one sister Mrs R L Phillips Abilene four grandchildren and brothers and sisters in Colorado City
Maria Elena Dominguez aged 9 months died Sunday at her Grandfalls home with the cause not yet known. Born June 2, 1957 in Fort Stockton, she is survived by her parents Juan and [Mrs.] Dominguez, a sister, three brothers, and maternal grandmother Fay Ramirez of Grandfalls. Services were held at 10 am in the Catholic Church of Grandfalls, burial in Grandfalls Cemetery, Barnes Funeral Home in charge.
The Monahans High School Lobo Band directed by Charles Enloe will perform a varied program in the High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. Admission is 1 for adults and 50 cents for students. Proceeds support the band trip to the Buccaneer Festival in Corpus Christi on May 14 with nut and candy sales planned in coming weeks.
Grandfalls Royalty voters will decide Saturday April 5 on transforming from a Common to an Independent School District. Seven trustees will be elected from ten candidates J L McGrew Jr R R Browning Dick Hamm Johnny Yell T L Matthews Billy G Welch Chester Taggart Red Wright Bill Tipton Sheldon A Eudaly. The top candidate will join the Common Board if the change fails. if approved seven become independent district trustees. The board and superintendent say taxes and valuations will not rise.
Two Monahans men were injured when they toppled from a drilling rig near Grandfalls about 10 40 a m Thursday. E W Thomason suffers severe head and neck injuries at Ward Memorial Hospital. J B Hayes also treated, less severely. The Roure Drilling Co rig, located about five miles east and three north of Grandfalls, employed the men. They reportedly fell ten feet after toppling over a rail and were transported by Barnes ambulance.
The Monahans Church of the Nazarene at 12th and South Main will host a revival from March 19 to 30 with Rev. John Randolph leading and evangelist Rev. Ralph G. Gray of Bethany, Oklahoma in charge. Gray and his wife perform music. services begin nightly at 7 30 p.m.
The Grandfalls Royalty School will dismiss classes at 2:00 PM on Thursday April 3 for Easter holidays. Classes resume the morning of Tuesday April 8 per Superintendent C B Wheeler.
Mrs. Paul Keel of Lubbock visited her daughter Mrs. Charles Reynolds and her family last week. Mr. Keel joined them here later and they have returned home. The Keels are former Monahans residents.

The First Assembly of God Church of Monahans hosts a Pecos Section Missionary Convention. The first service started at 10:30 a.m. today with two more services scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Ward County Tax Assessor office reports under 1700 vehicle tags issued by Saturday with two weeks left before the April 1 deadline. Data show 1,246 automobile tags and 412 truck tags issued. more than 4,000 tags expected this year. A Harps Auto Supply branch in Stand Falls handles 1958 tags, with Barstow City Hall offering tags for the rest of April.
Captain C W Bell announces Fred Hobbs of the Department of Public Safety License and Weight Division will be stationed here permanently starting April 1. Hobbs will base at Monahans 95 and cover a five county area with duties focused on traffic checks and supporting the local highway patrol. He is a former Andrews resident, trained at the DPS Academy in Austin, and is married with one son.
Ballots for the April 5 school trustee election have been delivered to Ward County Clerk Glenn Elrod and Monahans Wickett district business manager. April 1 is the last day to vote absentee.
