NRA opposition to Mikva nomination for federal judgeship
The NRA criticizes President Carter's July nomination of U.S. Rep. Abner Mikva for the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, labeling him anti gun and unfit. Neal Knox, executive director, warns Mikva would threaten civil liberties and bias firearms cases, noting his support for gun prohibition and stop and search laws. The DC Circuit's nationwide reach underscores the stakes.
