Jimmie Fike a 25 year old oil field worker was injured while working on a lease near Jal New Mexico. He dropped a joint of drill pipe onto his left foot crushing three toes. He was carried to Hobbs where the toes were amputated. He worked for Laughlin Brothers Drilling of Tulsa.
William L Kerr of Pecos district governor for Rotary International 42nd district is on the program for the Detroit international convention later this month. Kerr will discuss the duties of the Rotary secretary and will depart this week to attend the convention.
J A Rix of Lubbock field man for the West Texas Chamber of Commerce visited Winkler County this week and reported strong local interest. He predicted a membership drive yielding about $100 for WTCC from the campaign conducted during his visit.
