Modern weddings and small town rites in a changing world
In a humorous reminiscence the writer contrasts past and present marriage rituals. They recall obtaining a license in Big D eighty years ago for two dollars, then detail modern steps, medical tests, diverse information requests, and a flurry of wedding gifts. The piece also notes a dog as a potential ring bearer and mentions Dr. H H Wilson and an AFS student heading to Tokyo.
