Ward County Treasurer Betty Martin locks 30 years in office

Betty Martin, 75, will start an eighth term as Ward County treasurer in January after 30 years in office. The Monahans resident, described as popular and healthful, recalls moves of the courthouse in 1938 and notes finances have improved from script to modern funding. She has worked solo on bookkeeping until three years ago and plans retirement after this term.
