A public hearing and council meeting Tuesday invite questions.
Ward Memorial Hospital board asks County Commissioners to decide Monday on a contract with National Health Search Organization for physician placement. Harold Ward, board chair, says the agency would assist in recruiting doctors for the hospital.
TESCO will host an open house July 30 from 1 to 5 p.m. at its new Grandfalls office 308 East 2nd Street. The public may view the quarters and meet staff. refreshments will be served. The site combines utility offices with a new Reddy Room for meetings.
Commissioners will consider a hospital board request to form a Health Search Organization to recruit three physicians for Ward County. Other routine items include road funds, pro shop bids, and two new Airport Advisory Board appointees as local leaders weigh hospital needs and clinic feasibility.
The Monahans city council meets Tuesday with 13 agenda items including budget hearing, adopting ordinances, and maintaining the current tax rate. Additional discussions cover Christmas decorations, lighting, alcohol in parks, bids on airport improvements, and multiple board appointments.
The July Senior Citizen Luncheon is at noon today at the Center 205 West Fourth Street. Whitney Herr leads a Kermit Chamber delegation, with Diane Butler presenting music. meals by Bill Goin Chevrolet. Call 943-2608 before 10:30 a.m. for rides.
The 143rd District Court session set for Tuesday has been cancelled per District Clerk T. J. Jack Griggs. Civil cases docketed for that date have been settled.
A six team Texas Teenage Freshman Division district baseball tournament begins Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the local complex with Alpine, Stanton, Marfa, Imperial, and Monahans Yankees and Astros. The event runs through Saturday with the winner advancing to Sweetwater for the state tourney.
