Marvin H. Anderson, former Aztec resident, named manager at Monahans for Southern Union Gas Company, replacing G. D. Webb who suffered a heart attack. Announcement by N. P. Chesnutt in Dallas followed by SAG officers from Pecos. Anderson joined SAG in 1957 and held the Aztec manager post since 1960. Police Nab Would-Be Thieves In Mona Tire Theft
Six Jal collectors ran afoul of the law in Mona early Friday as city police seized two of the suspects during a tire removal at Trio Motor Company's used car lot. Five adults were fined 50 dollars each in Corporation Court. a 16-year-old juvenile was sent to the juvenile officer. The five named adults are Duane F. Walden, 27, Bernice C. Hendricks, 25, David F. Cozens, 21, Cecil R. Blakey, 20, and Michael E. McCord, 18. The youths said a bad tire in the riding auto prompted the replacement. The incident occurred at 3 a.m.

Hardaway Improving After Leg Injury
Mike Hardaway ex Lobo center and Monahans High School graduate is improving after a compound leg fracture suffered on June 24. The accident happened about a mile west of Royalty when a pipe section fell on his leg. He was taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa and is now recuperating at Ward Memorial Hospital.

Firefighters were called at about 2 a.m. Saturday to 212 East B in North Monahans where a vacant stucco and frame house was gutted after an initial blaze was controlled, then rekindled two hours later destroying the remaining structure.

Ward County Sheriff Blackie McNerlin appoints John I. Carr 35 to replace Buck Hutchinson fatally burned June 9 at a tank battery near Pyote. Carr, a 14 year Pyote resident born in Reeves County, formerly a boiler fireman at Wickett Refinery, is married with two children. appointment approved by Commissioners' Court Thursday.

Two Local Men Involved in Moderate Two-Car Collision

J. L. Brantley 32, brother of Henry Brantley, died in a Big Spring hospital from injuries in a June 25 crash near the Howard County capital. Funeral services were held Sunday at First Christian Church in Woodson with burial at Woodson Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, one son, his parents, one sister, and two brothers.
