Monahans Opens Low Rent Housing Applications
After five years of work the Monahans Housing Authority begins accepting applications at 8 a.m. for 34 low rent units. Executive director Mrs. Lucille King will meet prospective tenants in Room 11 of the County Annex. The project, started in 1971, includes one to four bedroom homes with ten one bedroom units reserved for elderly or handicapped residents.

Doctors Hsu and Moers Join Ward Memorial Hospital Staff
Dr Tzzy-Wen Hsu of Odessa was admitted to the regular staff by the Hospital Board. Dr Robert Moers of Lubbock will serve weekend emergency duty Friday through Monday. Eight other physicians were reappointed to associate and consulting staff. Administrator Bob Hill retained post amid a 272.8 percent rise in professional liability insurance costs and a 10 percent employee raise. December results show a $1,748.72 surplus with 159 admissions and 404 ER visits.

Chamber Renovation Discussed By Local Clubs
Five Monahans civic groups will lead a project to renovate the Chamber of Commerce building inside and out. Chamber Manager Joe Corby said a committee was formed after a meeting last week to study the planned renovation. The Desert Sands Garden Club sponsored the session with the Chamber board.
