Ward County moves to draw plans for new jail facility
The Ward County Commissioners authorized Architect Tommy Huckabee to prepare preliminary plans for a new law enforcement center with a $4,000 budget. City advertises for bids to dig trench at landfill
City Council agrees to public bids for trench digging at the landfill to dispose of garbage for about a year. City Manager Jack Forga cites a 1 385 by 24 by 15 foot trench as sufficient for one year and weighs options on continuing outside digging versus internal equipment use. Judging of Lambs Steers and Barrows Today at 41st Ward Show
The 41st Ward County Livestock Show continues with judging of lambs steers and barrows today after yesterday’s rabbit capon and goat events. About 400 animals entered weigh in Tuesday as youngsters prepared for the auction Friday at 1 pm featuring top 90 animals across 16 steers 36 lambs 10 capon pairs 18 barrows 8 goats and two meat rabbit pens. Production buckles and showmanship awards will be given before the sale with honors from local sponsors and two Livestock Heart Achievement awards to a 4 H and an FFA member.
