Big Green Band Seeks UIL Sweepstakes At Odessa Meet
About 125 Big Green Band members and 80 Junior High Little Green students travel to Odessa College March 1 and March 8 for solo and ensemble UIL contests. The Big Green aims for a Sweepstakes Award after a First Division marching win earlier this year. Bands from Permian Basin cities including Fort Stockton Andrews Pecos Kermit and Ector join roughly 2000 students at the weekend event.

Final Days Ahead for Ward County 4-H Livestock Show
The 36th Ward County Livestock Show enters its final two days with events at the Coliseum. Lamb Show starts at 9 a.m., Steer Show at 1 p.m., Barrow Show at 3 p.m. No evening events Thursday. Friday features 87 Stockshow Sale entries and Buckle awards followed by top-animal auction at 1 p.m. Barbecue lunch offered 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Horse Show opens at 8:30 a.m. in the Ward County Rodeo Arena.

Ward County Easter Seal chapter designates Feb 28 to March 30 as Easter Seal Month chaired by Mrs. Patterson. Appeals go to residents. donations to Paul Moore at Texas Savings and Loan.
