Commissioners approved a $30,000 remodeling program for the Monahans Community Center and the Cow Palace. An advertising bid phase was authorized with estimated costs: Community Center about $9,800 and Cow Palace $13,000 to $14,000. Gunshot Victim Recovering as Wife Cleared on Bond
Ike McVade is in Ward Memorial Hospital after gunshot wounds to the abdomen. His wife Fannie McVade was released on a $1000 bond after being charged with assault with intent to murder. She turned herself in at the police station and claimed she had just shot her husband following an argument.

Family Center Plans Seek Paid Director for Monahans

County Livestock Show Preparations Continue
Preparations for the 30th Ward County Livestock Show proceed with events from Tuesday at 4 p.m. to Saturday’s 6 p.m. barbecue. Activities include arrival and weigh-in, parade, Thursday 4-H judging, Friday auction of top 85 animals, and a Saturday morning horse show. Carl D.
