Five Indictments Return by Ward County Grand Jury
Ward County Grand Jury handed down indictments against five men on various charges before adjourning Thursday. Indicted were Bobby Lee Rodgers for intent to kill in the February 14 shooting of Billy Wilson. Joe David Dyches and Van F. Dyches for burglary. Richard G. Cooper for burglary in the February 7 Lyle's Sporting Goods break in. Granville W. Lambright for driving while intoxicated second offense. Sheriff Blackie McNerlin said all five are jailed or free on bond.

Two ordinances already passed on first reading move to second and final reading and adoption by Monahan city council at 2 p m. The items cover repair or demolition of hazardous city buildings and extending Texas Electric Company's franchise. Also on the agenda are bids for airport runway maintenance and referral of delinquent 1961 personal property tax accounts to the city attorney for collection.

Monahans Man Admits Sumner Grocery Theft
G D Jelly Lester of Monahans confessed to the Sumner store burglary after lawmen traced him to Amarillo where he was held following an entry via the roof. The 55 year old ex convict admitted breaking into the Sumner Food Store on January 15 and stealing 719 dollars from a safe during the 1 am crime. He will be tried in Monahans after Amarillo proceedings.
