City Sees 118 Crashes In Seven Months On Main And Sealy Streets
Police survey covering July 1 1958 to January 31 1959 tallies 118 city crashes with 36 on Main and 31 on Sealy. Main Sealy intersections report the highest counts led by Main Sealy with 15 crashes. No fatalities occurred though most incidents involved two cars and yielded from failure to stop. City officials urge cautious driving and courtesy to reduce accidents.

Driller Burned In Gas Fire Is Released From Hospital
J W Joiner 30 a driller for Thiess Drilling Co was released from Ward Memorial Hospital Tuesday night after suffering first degree burns to the face and arms from a gas well fire nine miles north of Monahans on the Kermit Highway. The well was venting about 500000 cubic feet of gas per minute before firefighters from Monahans extinguished it. Chief Jack Wilson credited quick actions of rig crew in keeping the scene cool with water until firemen arrived. Another man E W Flippen 30 a well operator for C W Wright Construction Co from Kermit was kept overnight and released the next morning after also sustaining burns. The blaze began Sunday at about 1135 p m.

Six Youths Charged In Sunday Burglary
Six young men aged 17 to 21 were jailed in Ward County on Tuesday accused of Sunday night burglaries at the American Legion Hut and George Bentley's supply yard on the Grandfalls highway.
