Funeral Services Held For Mrs Rutherford
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Jonahans Cemetery for Mary Katherine Rutherford 35 who died of bronchial pneumonia in a local hospital Tuesday after an illness of five days. The Rev Ray McGrew officiated. She had lived in Monahans for two years and was born July 3 1902 in Pennsylvania. She is survived by her husband Buck Rutherford and a daughter Wilma Ruth 12.

Wilson Sentenced Fifteen Years For Holding Up Dance Party
Leonard Wilson received a 15 year term for robbery with firearms in Barstow district court after authorities said he brandished a shotgun at an impromptu high school dance inside an oil tank east of town, stealing $1.85 and a car from Maxines Groves. The City of Monahans ordered an American LaFrance fire truck from Elmira New York. The 125 horse power unit will be fully equipped and meet Underwriters Insurance specs.
