Automobile crash claims life of N H Connally near Odessa
N H Connally, 30, was fatally injured in a car accident about midnight last Thursday February 17 near Odessa. He died hours later in an Odessa hospital. The body was prepared for shipment to Burkburnett Texas by Walter Harwell Funeral Home on Saturday. He worked for M J Delaney Drilling Company and is survived by his brother Roy of Odessa.

Monahans High School represented by Marshall Snelson Jackie Terrell Roberta Lambert Elizabeth McDonald Opal Bargsley and Mary Marie Briant attended a two day debate institute February 18 19 at North Texas State Teachers College. A E Lang superintendent accompanied them. The institute gathered about 35 Denton area schools for practice debates on the one house legislature with no eliminations or winners. Senator G H Nelson of Lubbock spoke at Marquis Hall defending the one house legislature for Texas.

The Monahans City Council directed cleanup of a several acre refuse area southwest of town and burial in a pit. Mayor Hill said the city may burn and bury trash when funds permit and an incinerator could be considered. Health officer Dr. E J Cook warned of serious consequences if not addressed.
