Joe Pete Cohagen, 32, was arrested Friday afternoon by city and sheriff officers for parole violation. He was found walking on Betty Street in Mona and has lived there about 10 months while working as a roughneck. Paroled from Huntsville State Penitentiary to the Tyler board after serving part of a three year theft sentence. prison officials were notified and a pickup was arranged. A bulletin to law enforcement led to recognition.

Rites Set Tuesday For James J. Wylie
Funeral services for James J. Wylie 76 begin Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Barnes Chapel with Rev. Dr. Carl Clement of First Methodist Church officiating. Masonic graveside rites follow. Wylie died Sunday at 3 a.m. at his son’s home in Alpine. He was born in Runnels County in 1883 and is survived by three sons Mona hans Wylie and Raymond Wylie Alpine one daughter Mrs P K Pitzer Big Spring two brothers Ben Wylie Van Horn and Will Wylie Sweetwater and one sister Mrs Elizabeth Collins Clyde.

A gas well fire on Blue Danube Oil Co. property nine miles north of Monahans, Sealy A no 27, was extinguished by the Monahans Fire Department in about 10 minutes. Two men, J. W. Joiner and E. W. Flippen, were burned but Flippen left hospital and Joiner remained in good condition.
